Creating Custom Kinetic Perimetry Exam

Setup Instructions #

  1. In the Patients tab, create new patient or select an existing patient by clicking on their name in the list.
  2. Once the correct patient is selected, click the Examination tab.
  3. Click the Kinetic tab.
  4. Choose the correct eye for testing. Right (OD), Both (OU), or Left (OS).
  5. Choose the drawing mode for creating a stimulus path.
    1. Freehand drawing
    2. To-point drawing
    3. From-point drawing
  6. Click Settings icon to choose additional settings:
    1. Stimulus Color: (White, Red, Blue or Green)
    2. Fixation Target: (Single red dot or Diamond shaped fixation)
    3. Snap to grid settings: (Off, 1°, 5°, 10°, 15°)
  7. Choose the speed for stimulus: (°/s)
  8. Choose the Goldmann stimulus size: (I, II, III, IV or V)
  9. Choose the attenuation: (0 db – 34 db)

Freehand Drawing stimulus placement #

  1. Follow the Setup Instructions above. Select the Freehand drawing mode.
  2. Move the mouse cursor to the desired initial position for the first path.
  3. Left-click and draw the desired stimulus path.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 as needed.

To-point Drawing Stimulus placement #

  1. Follow the Setup Instructions above. Select To-point drawing mode.
  2. Drag the black X to desired location for stimulus to move towards.
  3. Move mouse cursor to desired initial position for first path.
  4. Left-click to place stimulus path.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 as needed.

From-point Drawing Stimulus placement #

  1. Follow the Setup Instructions above. Select From-point drawing mode.
  2. Drag the black X to desired location for stimulus to move away from.
  3. Move mouse cursor to desired ending position for the first path.
  4. Left-click to place stimulus path.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 as needed.

Please note: It is possible to add multiple combined types of drawing modes, speeds, Goldmann sizes and attenuations to an exam prior to beginning an exam.

Examination Instructions #

  1. Confirm patient is comfortable. Adjust table and chin rest to align eye.
  2. Ensure eyepatch is properly placed (if performing R or L eye only).
  3. Provide the patient with the response button.
  4. Explain the test procedure to the patient.
  5. Click the green Play button to begin exam. The exam will automatically test all placed stimulus paths.
  6. Once all testing is complete. Click the red Stop button.
  7. A test summary window will appear. Enter any notes for examination.
  8. To save exam, click the Save button in the bottom right.
  9. To discard exam, click the Discard button.
